On 6 April 2019, a group of alumni participated in a coastal cleanup at Shek O Beach, an activity jointly organized by the Federation of PolyU Alumni Associations and Green Come True. Many disposables including styrofoam, plastic bottles and fishing tools were collected. The participants were encouraged to reduce waste at source by applying the 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover) to help reduce marine debris and protect the ecosystem.
